February 18, 2024, Samarkand. Samarkand International Airport continues to strengthen its position among the fastest growing airports and took 2nd place in the prestigious ACI Europe rating among airports with passenger traffic from 1 to 10 million people per year.
According to the Airports Council International (ACI Europe), Samarkand Airport demonstrated a record increase in passenger traffic: + 186% compared to 2019.
This result confirms the rapid development of the aviation hub and the growing interest of travelers in Samarkand.
Recall that in 2024, the air harbor again set a new historical maximum and served over 1.38 million passengers, which is 37% more than in the record 2023.
Air Marakanda, which operates the modern terminal of Samarkand International Airport, cooperates with 17 airlines. Samarkand Airport operates flights on 18 routes, of which 16 are international and 2 are domestic.
