Karakulkimiyo chemical complex was included in Karakul Free Economic zone

The Karakulkimiyo Nitrogen Fertilizer Chemical Complex Construction Project became a resident of the Karakul Free Economic Zone (Kara-Kul FEZ). A project implementing investment company, Ferkensco Management Limited, received a 50-hectare plot of land for long-term use.

Karakulkimiyo will become one of the largest industrial enterprises in Bukhara region. The annual production output of the Chemical Complex will be up to 495,000 tons of ammonia and 594,000 tons of urea.

The main raw materials for ammonia are natural gas, atmospheric air, and water vapor. The urea is obtained by direct synthesis of liquid ammonia and carbon dioxide. The output product will be urea granules ready for use in agriculture.

The production facilities of the Karakulkimiyo Сhemical Сomplex will comprise 364 items of equipment. The staff is more than 500 employees.

‘The project partners are the Enter Engineering Group of Companies, as well as Casale S.A. (Swiss company), which provides services for design and license of its own technology for manufacturing this chemical product within this project. This project is unique with its opportunities to save on gas operating costs when obtaining ammonia. It reduces harmful atmospheric emissions,’ said Timur Jurayev, Head of the Representative Office of Ferkensco Management in Uzbekistan.

The start of construction of Karakulkimiyo Complex is expected for the fourth quarter of 2023. The start of projection is expected on January 1, 2026. The investment amount is USD 600 million.
